Kids Rule! in the Arts is a program designed by the National Arts Institute, providing a venue for local high school students in the arts to give back – and invest in – our community. Success is achieved through monthly themed community service events in a blend of artistic showcases. High School Kids involved in the arts become positive community role models. Their efforts creatively energize and empower as they attract the eye of the community. That attention spotlights the Sponsors as important leaders, sending the right message to their target market. This program allows area individuals and businesses to sponsor a great cause while gaining significant community recognition for their name and business utilizing WPTV and WPTV.com. Sponsorships can be used to effectively maximize the business message and to support the efforts of the Kids Rule! in the Arts youth and our community. This holiday season, Kids Rule! in the Arts is collecting toys for the Achievement Center for Children & Families. For 40 years the Achievement Centers for Children & Families have supported the low-income community. What started out as a childcare center in 1969 with only 20 children has now evolved into a social services agency serving over 700 children and 150 adults. Programs and services help families make life altering changes. The Achievement Center provides affordable childcare, after-school programs, adult education and resources to help families seek the assistance they need. Their vision is to break the cycle of poverty and help families realize economic self-sufficiency while preparing their children for academic success.
The members of Kids Rule! in the Arts, along with Santa, will present toys collected, and holiday cheer, to Achievement Center kids during an exciting Heartfelt Holiday Event at Palm Beach Zoo in West Palm Beach on Wednesday, December 13, 2012 at 3:30pm. The event will feature entertainment and the gifts collected will bedispersed to all the very deserving children. Toy collection is thanks, in part, to the generosity of IBERIA BANK and Arnstein & Lehr.
