Ron Palillo 1949 –2012

Talented actor, Ron Palillo, brought laughter to all with his portrayal of Horshack on “Welcome Back Kotter” in the 1970’s.  Yet, he gave so much more to the arts and entertainment business.  Ron was a master actor, an accomplished  writer, director, producer, teacher and artist. He loved working with young people to ignite and hone their communication and artistic talents.  Ron began coaching and directing  in 2011 for the National Arts Institute’s  Heartfelt  Holiday program which invites the collection of toys for Christmas for needy children.

At the time of his death, Ron was in pre-production to direct National Arts Institute’s 2012
Heartfelt Holiday, lending real world, hands-on camera and presentation expertise to students in the arts.

Ron’s respectful tickling of the kid in all of us included his authored play, book and screenplay entitled “The Lost Boy”.

His sudden passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of family, friends, students and his many fans. However; he has gifted us with his Legacy spirit to ensure that his passion for arts, education and youth will continue for generations to come.

Accordingly, the “Ron Palillo Scholarship Award” will be endowed by the gifts of those inspired by Ron’s enthusiastic wit, unlimited talent and his commitment to the Arts. The best way to acknowledge Ron today is to keep his flame burning for tomorrow.
